Ahh so you're to blame :) I cannot remember the in's and out's of it, but IIRC every piece of electronic gear in a vehicle will have to be approved to a vehicle equiv of UL or CE or whatever it is. It may be a case of putting something in place before 42V cars become production items. The implication that I recall was that if there was a single item of non-approved equipment fitted to the vehicle then the insurance would be invalidated.
