I have had a chance to review code from three different people and I am
still at a loss.

Could someone explain to me the basics to generate a custom character on a
44780 LCD?
Maybe someone could just give me a simple outline of the steps required...

I think I am close to getting it to work but I am missing something basic
that has not really been documented anywhere that I have seen.

Saw a posting Just the other day and now can not find it anywhere!

It was a link to a site that had some code to scroll LCD characters.

Can someone send me the link again, tried searching piclist archive and also
used google.com but nothing!
