Dale, thank you for the hints. Jim - I did not make a single board yet, because of the hardware handshaking.. but once I get that fixed, I'll make a board and send you a picture. :-) Dale has very good description of how it's done, I think we've done it a bit differently. We took off the flip-up cover, removed the carousel and made a 1/2'' slit in the cover for the pen. Unlike Dale, we wound a few turns of electric tape on the permanent marker, to make it thik enough for the plotter to grab it. Works great. Somewhere else I read the same thing that Dale just said - you need to set the plotter to the lowest baud rate, and set the plot speed to 1''/sec. It will be slow, but there are two important advantages this method will have over protoboard. First, it's automatic - "set it and forget it" (tm). Second, it is easier and faster to solder than protoboard. My last project board has over 50 wires on the underside. I expect to reduce that number to about five, and cut the size of the board in half. Hope this helps.
