I live about 150 east in Kelowna which is the electronic black hole of the world. Trying to get parts here follows a few paths... "We don't have it in our catalog no-one in the world makes such a thing..." "but its just a resistor..." "I'm telling you no-one makes those" "Oh you don't want that, I've got something just as good in back, it's a little bit more but its worth it....just ignore the dust on it." "Hey this is a radio tube" "Yah so, same thing as a transistor..." I've been getting my bros in law in Phoenix pick up stuff locally and fire it up airmail. I can get almost any part in 4-6 days. I found one place called circuit specialists who told me they do about 90% of their business from Canada because of this. They are a lot cheaper than Digi or Newark but don't have quite the linecard as those two. >i mostly use their online system for ordering, but have used phone on >occasion. heck, they even sent me a hand signed christmas card. now that is >customer care! They are great to deal with on the phone too. Very helpful. I didn't get a xmas card tho just another catalog sniff sniff ;-] Dave -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
