Ah, that's a help.  In my case I was confused because there didn't seem to be
any way to select anything.
One question:  is there a way to define your own pad shapes?

1/ I don't have a problem with the change feature.  Choose: change, width, 0.04
(say), and left click on a board trace, it should immediately change width.
You
will need to touch each segment of the trace.  You can define classes, eg
power,
and make them different widths.
2/ the cost items allow you to mofiy the behaviour of the autorouter, so if you
want less vias, you just make them more expensive, etc.  Sounds real simple ...
3/ to do single sided you set the prefeerences in the autoroute (1st page) -
means you want this side to be horizontal traces, | vertical, / diagonal, * any
direction, N/A NONE.  So, you want N/A.
