Hi!, I would like to tell you, about these HD Carriers.. Most of them are made of Plastic, a poor heat conducer. keep in mind that if your HD is on a regular housing, it can dissipate heat on it, but if you use these enclosures, It may not dissipate all the necessary heat and if your room temperature is high... oh oh... :-). I tell you this because, I destroy a 10 Gb Western Digital HD due to overheating it where on one of these plastic HD carriers and the room temperature was about 85 Deg. F. on a Tower PC housing. I decide to attach a 4" Fan on the top of these carrier to avoid HD overheating. Sorry for the bad enlgish. I hope this coment can be helpful for you and you didn't destroy any HD yet :-) see you byby Leandro At 20:54 26/02/2002 +0000, you wrote: >Jim said: > > > Does anybody have any experience with these and > > can recommend a manufacturer? > > > > I've seen some with and without fans and other bells > > and whistles ... > >I use the ones I get at the local cheap joint for $20 each, complete.
