I am also running MPLAB 5.5 and Hitech C compiler, and have gone trhough the same problems that you pointed out. The 5.5 version is a little bit buggy, also: when I set more than a couple of breakpoints, the program crashes. Seriously, I am thinking in getting back to 5.4 !!
