Thanks to all. My app is basically a substitute for a mechanical switch. The reason (because I asked as well) is the client wishes to have a means of switch input but without the 'average' person being able to activate it. His 'thingys' are in very public places and the switch is going to be sort of a security feature. Never done that before and I respect the opinions and experience on this list.
