Like view and patch code in the field... operate without a PC connected... it has an LCD, keypad, etc... and a dissasembler / editor built in. Bootloader support. And it is open source. Linux PC support is available. on and on. Check out http://www.piclist.com/techref/microchip/devprogs.htm#pocket for more. And, as I said, I expect the total price (not counting what you already have in your parts box) to be between $75 and $100. The picstart plus is $199.00. The schematic is available at the link above. I've tried to apply my feeble analog knowledge to finding a transistor based on the circuit, but I'm overwhelmed by the choices and don't feel that I understand the issues. Again, any help would be appreciated. --- James Newton: PICList.com webmaster, former Admin #3 mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 phone http://www.piclist.com/member/JMN-EFP-786 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
