Incidentally, I completely agree with Alan and should have pointed that out as well. In fact, I ran into trouble because the copy of NMEA I have is a few years old (2.1) and the manufacturer deviated from what was written in that standard. When I referenced their manual, cleaned up the difficulties, all was happy, happy again.
