Did your display flicker a lot before dying? Any burning smell from the scope at any stage? My TDS220 did all this a few weeks out of warranty. Tek replaced the entire display even though you could still make out the display (you had to look really closely though). Cost about $600 if I remember correctly. One of my colleagues had a display die but in his case the unit was only a few weeks old. I'd be interested to hear how you get on with this or if anyone else had similar problems with the TDS series. We probably have about 40 of them here. These are the most serious problems I'm aware of.
