Crystals >100kHz have a typical start-up time of 10-20ms. Resonators are typically <1ms" However, I'd want independent verification that the crystal I was using takes that long to get revved up In Table 3, start-up time for the PIC itself is shown as 1024 Tosc whether it be crystal or resonator So, if it's true you have an unavoidable overhead of at least 10ms when using a crystal, change to a resonator if possible -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
