I remember the day I was reading an optics journal about the far Infra-Red 1000 micron band... which happens to also be the 1mm RF band. I work in "ultrasonics" in water and metals which cover the band from 1kHz to 10MHz. I read the optics journals because a 1mm acoustic wave in steel refracts, diffracts, etc. a lot like a 1mm optic/RF wave in space. Waves is waves.
