It doesn't look doable with USB cause of complexity and speed issues on the master side. The best answer seems to be to get ahold of the older model rs232 pc cams which are pretty scarce these days. They're slow enough to be pic-able I think. Haven't found one so far so haven't any bench experience with them. If you want to code an image sensor direct, the Mitsubishi AR has a fairly long integration time so doesn't look too good with rapidly moving objects, especially if lighting is bad. The Kodak & Nat Sem dev boards/eval kits cost arm+leg & Kodak don't seem too keen about free samples. Good luck - Ian PS: USB would be doable if u used a cut down PC card. Also there's the Linux strongARM kernel which i heard is small enough to be microprocessable.
