I am looking for information for constructing a simple garden soil moisture meter using a PIC. At the moment I am playing with f873, and think it can be done using a bit of double sided circuit board as a sensor but I can't find any information on how to do it. The simplest method would be to wet/dry signal into a digital input, but it would be nicer to be able to log changes in moisture using an analog input (since they are there...!). Are then any repositories of sensor circuits for the f87x analog inputs anywhere, such as soil moisture, air temperature, light, humidity anywhere? I haven't been able to find any (except for some play circuits).
