Hello,

I am thinking of purchasing Microchips C18 compiler for the 18CX family
processors.  Does anyone have oppinions on this C compiler.  I am most
interested in how well it optimises the code produced.  Can it compile tight
code for time critical application.  I am needing to calculate motion steps
for stepper motor in about 10.4uSec for each new position.  I am using the
Bresenham 2D algorithms and my pic will be using a 40Mhz clock.  I know that
my setup time is more than this, but with acceleration this is not a
problem.  I would like to program this in C as it simplifies the testing and
debugging because I can write a windows application to emulate the PIC
program.
