Been reading a lot lately about scopes and how great they are, I agree. I got mine free from a guy who's wife threatened to leave him unless he disposed of some of his junk..(My dad always calls my wife an electronics widow !) It's an old Dual trace scope, all modular so you can remove the y1, y2 and timebase modules are replace them.. packed with valves and it takes about 5 minutes to warm up :-) Made by a company called "Solartron" - don't even know if they're around anymore(?) Might even be considered an antique by now. It's obviously not a DSO given its age :) but it has a nice feature which I haven't found while looking for a decent used one- Z modulation (brightness). Is this a common feature on scopes nowadays or not? I've been meaning to build a DSO module for it for .. well years.. but I think it would be for fun rather than being particularly useful.. Don't think I'm up for building something that stores 1G samples. -- Jon Baker "Still working on a machine to put the smoke back in the chips so they work again" -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
