IF you want absolute minimum power consumption AND you do not need clock &
calendar then keep the Watchdog, it is the best power conserver around.  If
you use the internal 37 kHz oscillator you can
get down into the tiny microampere area very quickly.

Yes, I have been running one here at 20 Hz clock for some weeks now,
everything happens so very slowly hi.  There is an ApNote at Microship,
like so much of the information it is long out of date really but it will
help.

Cut your first decision, do you have to have a clock and calendar, if not
you can get way down there with the WDT...
