Hyperterm just plain sucks at just about anything. I hate it. Have made the mistake of pasting an entire Cisco router configuration into the window... couple of hundred lines of text, the SOB took about an hour to send it. Disgusting. Unfortunately most of the *good* serial comms programs for Windows machines seem to have died off... I especially liked Telix and QMODEM. Best one I have found recently is one that CCS sends with their C compiler called SIOW. Very bare-bones, but just the thing for takling to PICs - except for bootloaders, it doesn't do file transfers. Other than that, Minicom for UNIX/Linux does a great job.
