Skip the nozzles. Take a plastic air line from a small fish tank bubbler, or (like I do) tap off the lab's compressed air supply with a regulator down to about 10PSI. Run the air hose to the bottom of your tank, and stick it there with epoxy or something else permanent. Poke a number of holes in the air line, snake it around the bottom of the tank, and seal the end. You have a nice sitrring system that creates all kinds of nice turbulence, and you don't have to pump etchant outside yout tank. It is self-cleaning, and has never failed for me in 5 years. This, plus heating your etchant (use a fume hood!) will etch your boards likketty-split. Wear goggles and gloves, it splashes everywhere. A lid for the tank will hold in heat and prevent splashes. non-contact heaters are a good idea. I heat the tank with hot air, to keep the heater away from caustic etchant. A hair dryer on medium setting works great for my tiny tank, (approx 4 liters) you might have a bigger tank and want something more sophisticated. I have no idea if Stainless heaters would last in an etchant tank. Hair dryer lasts about two years in my setup, costs $10. --Lawrence ----- Original Message ----- From: "Simon-Thijs de Feber" To: Sent: Friday, February 01, 2002 1:19 AM Subject: [OT]: When is a nozzle a nozzle > Hello all, > > I am constructing my own etch tank which is intended > to spray the etchant on the PCB. > To do this i need nozzles. > I thought of buying them of the self but there are > hardly any plastic and small types available. > > So i thought of making them my self. > > But to what laws must a nozzle obey to be a nozzle ??? > > > grtz > > Simon > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Everything you'll ever need on one web page > from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts > http://uk.my.yahoo.com > > -- > http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: > [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
