Hello Kevin It would be great if you could give me a test hex for the 16f877 in a 4bit mode. Could you write it for this configuration: LCD PIC Data4 PORTA:0 Data5 PORTA:1 Data6 PORTA:2 Data7 PORTA:3 RS PORTA:4 EN PORTA:5 RW Not used in this example, The LCD is always written to. Tie to Ground (low) I have used the Adam Davis LCD soft without any luck.. it seems to be a difficulty to change to 16f877. If anyone have made this change, please mail me. ----- Original Message ----- From: To: "Michael Pettersson" ; Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 8:47 AM Subject: Re:[PIC]:16F877 and LCD > Hi Michael, > Try > http://ubasics.com/adam/electronics/lcd/cc5xlcd.c > the link was on > http://www.piclist.org/techref/microchip/language/c/ios.htm > their is a couple LCD routines in C on that page. > The CC5X code is for a 16c66, but it should be easy to convert > to a F877, also I looked at the code quickly, you would be > better off using portb instead of porta, as porta needs to be configured > to digital when you power up the chip(f877). > I am not familiar with CC5X, I use CCSC. > However, fee free to contact me with any questions > Goodluck, > Kevin > I could send you a hex file to test your hardware setup, > I use the CCSC lcd.c driver routine and can't give > you the source :( > > >Hello All! > > > >I'm new with PIC and the 16F877 and have started testing the CC5Xfree from > > >http://www.bknd.com > > > >I have a project that I would like to start with but I need a LCD for this. > > >My first attampts was not succesful and now I need some help. > > > >Could anyone help me with a LCD 4 bit parallell test software with the > >cc5xfree software and against the 16F877 micro? > > > >Thanks! > > > >Michael > > > >-- > >http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
