I'm considering using multiple mics to get amplitude information...maybe 8
mics maybe 16...

What would be the best way to sample each of the mic levels with a PIC.  I
want to constantly do this.

Does this require an analog multiplexer and one A to D chip?...PIC
addresses multiplexer and the addressed line(analog voltage) is fed to the
A to D...

I guess I would also need an op-amp or something to amplify the mic's line
levels?

Does that sound(no pun intended) right?
