Get /real/ cozy with a microchip rep who is reliable and knowledgable. That's about the best answer you can get. The only other thing to note is that every time something new is supposed to be out there is a flurry of "where is it" posts to this list. If Microchip says it will be shipping in a particular quarter, chances are good it won't be shipping in quantity until the end of the next quarter, and the hobbyists won't be getting it for another quarter. If it's supposed to be released in march/april, and you want to have boards done by may I'd suggest you start programming that other part. You'll thank yourself a thousand times over even if it ships on time. BTW, what other chip is pin compatible? -Adam info wrote: >Hi all >I am working on a project that will use a pic18f85xx that is not >supposed to be sampling till march/April. > >My question is this! > >How good is microchip at keeping to it's sample and then release silicon >timescales.
