Well ... as I recall, windows being repositioned where they were
previously is a function of the program you're using, not the O/S itself.
Explorer, for example, often reopens the same Explorer windows between
login sessions.  It does this by recording (somewhere ... probably in the
registry ... everything else goes there!) the status of each Explorer
window open before shutting down.  If you have another application which
exhibits similar behavior, it's because the app is doing it, not the O/S.
