I looked at compact flash first, but decided I couldnt simultaneously read from more than one stream at a time at high rate, unless I have some sort of RAM caching scheme. I'm trying to make a sound effects widget that can be programed with a wide array of sounds (16 bit @ 22K sample rate) and then play back one or more at a time, mixing as required.
