Hi Niklas! Very decent your post. At www.dspguide.com you can find a free book on dsp, so it is a very good= place to start. As for C or Matlab, I prefer Scilab (V2.6) from Inria (http://www-rocq.inria.fr/scilab). I intend to simulate the algorithm in Scilab( in s-plane) and then I`ll c= ode in assembler. As for programmer and emulator, ICD2 could be a cheaper and better tool. As regarding the mp3 decoder, I think it can be done with dsPIC, but I wo= nder - is it possible to design mp3 coder as well? Or a DVD decoder? Or a DIVx-d= ecoder? Or a speech recognized module? Or something like a Bluetooth module link? Or a PID? By march, we have a month and a half to find out what we can do with dsPI= Cs. I think we`ll have a lot of themes to discuss here.
