i recently used a pcf8573 rtc with a pic. this one is a good solution for battery buffering (needs single 1.2v nicd) as the core is running down to a very low voltage. it has a i2c interface. with a separate rtc, you won't get problems when reseting the pic. tino Edson Brusque Gesendet von: pic microcontroller discussion list 16.01.02 23:25 Bitte antworten an pic microcontroller discussion list An: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Kopie: Thema: [PIC]: RTC Hello, I think this was already covered here, but I've searched the archives and found nothing interesting. The PIC is very precise for using one of the interrupts as an RTC? Obviously, I mean a PIC in equipment that is always on. Or is it more recomendable to use an RTC-on-a-chip like the ones from Dallas (DS1307)? What is the more common/cheap/simple RTC that uses I2C?
