What is a dsPIC?

This list being a PIC list I some how expected it to be a good source for
dsPIC information or at least have a lively dsPIC conversation going on. No
such luck. So I wonder does the dsPIC mean any thing to you. Why don't you
show any interest? Or am I missing some thing here? Would making a [dsPIC]:
section help the discussion going?
