I wonder if anyone has seen or if they have any thoughts regarding the
following:

I need a multiplexer to fan out a RS232 port to 4 serial devices.  I think
it would be possible
to use a PIC for control and have it look for some character string to
switch between the
devices.  Such as a Backspace character followed by a number for the desired
port.

Are there any switch units that could handle the plus/minus RS232 levels
that could be driven
by a PIC?  Any advice would be most appreciated.
