I'm making a video switcher using a PIC and a 4066 Quad bilateral switch.

My question is:  is it OK to drive the trigger inputs of the 4066 directly from the I/O pins of the PIC, or should I put a resistor in the line to limit the current?

What about running multiple trigger lines on the 4066 from one I/O pin?  Should I maybe put a buffer in between the PIC and the 4066?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
