>Also adverts for the latest ZX80 a massive #79.95 and 1K ram . Shades of when I cleaned out many back issues of Byte magazine before shifting half way round the world. Found an advert in an early 1980's issue for a full height 5 1/4 inch 10MB hard drive for US$2950. Recently found a datasheet for tyre pressure measurement. I had been wondering about how it was done without having wires getting wound round the axle as the vehicle travels, and this appears to be a SAW device which is run in a passive transponder mode, a bit like the passive microwave eavesdropper in the USA Seal in the embassy in Moscow a good few years ago. I have no other details on it as I have not perused the data sheet in detail, but this passive device problem seems to have been the fly in the ointment to these getting into use. I believe they are used on some large trucks these days, as well as some high end cars. -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
