Hullo all, In the general opinion of the group , which is the most effective search engine for ee related stuff ?- I am looking particularly for anyrhing non mainstream , that is dedicated to EE/Programming . Whenever I need anything , first port of call is Google ( bless em' ) . Ussually I can get a good site in the first page of results - even with badly worded searches of obscurities , I have gotten to the precise companies / sites in amazing time. But I have exhausted the better Pic results (with optimised searches ) and there are too many er distracting hits with Pics in general . So , I am looking mainly for homepages of hobbyist stuff - schematics , code and stuff - and need my next fix . Any suggestions for anything EE/Programming ? I haven't really tried the other general engines . Also on the subject of google , any ideas on how they make the $s ? It is one site that I look out for any ads , but I can't seem to remember seeing any . Yahoo's directory is starting to (and Yahoo in general //geocities//webring etc ) has been sucking for quite some time . Others have too much load time for a 56k - read 44kbps - in this part of Africa , and then they give me commercial sites with huge graphics on the results page . So I haven't really tried them - or even looked - when I got google . So in all , Googles fast , lean , effective . But a little on the side might just give me a lttle more .. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
