Congratulations!! I'm glad I was able to have been of some help.
Sometimes it can be the simplest little points that keep whole thing
from working. The 'divide-and-conquer' technique lets you look at one
thing at a time and build up to the whole.

At first glance, your code doesn't look much different than anything a
more experienced PIC programmer would write. (I think that I'll leave
it to those more experienced than me to comment on possible
improvements to your code.)
