You will have to use a MAX-232 to shift RS-232C levels to TTL. Just input= the TTL signal into an AND gate, and the other pin you use as an "enable".= You didn't said if you only need to shift the TX/RX line, or all the= control lines (DSR, DTR, etc.). If you only need TX or TX/RX, you can use= only one MAX-232 to drive the input and output of your circuit.
