I am working on a device that will have a pic listening on a serial line and waiting quietly until a special character sequence is sent on the line, I then want the pic to switch the 232 line to an alternate serial line. At first I thought I'd just take the 9600 coms in from the source and output it to one set of output pins, then once the key sequence is detected divert the output to an alternate serial port. However I think I could use a smaller PIC and simply have the chip drive a SS relay to switch between destination serial ports. This is a PC to PC serial link. Am I off base or can I use some SS relays to switch to different output ports? Keith __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
