I think they are called Slot cars in the US

I'm not sure I believe some of the figures... I work in a A+E department and
we see some strange things but not these things. If they are so popular,
you'ld expect one of the busiest A+E departments in the country to see them.
We did see someone the other day, whoever, who had put a pint glass up their
backside. Not surprsingly, it smashed and they ruptured their bowel. They
then had to go to theatre to have the glass removed and the bowel sewn back
up again.......
