Sorry if I was not so clear on that. I have a ATE that has lots of devices attached to it and they are all controlled through GPIB. Now I need one more device (digital I/O). So I thought may be easier if I build the device myself rather than buying the expensive one off the shelf. So I am trying to add my new device to the system. PIC is the micro to control the digital I/O and I need to make it to communicate through the GPIB. I hope this clears things up a bit. If the GPIB Bus is on the computer are you referring to your 25-Pin Parallel/Printer Port? Are you trying to use the PIC to interface between a GPIB Bus on a computer and some other device? -----Original Message----- From: Shirollah Ghadirian [mailto:Shirollah.Ghadirian@ENERGY.INVENSYS.COM] Sent: Thursday, December 20, 2001 3:01 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC]:HELP WITH GPIB Sorry guys, Yes I am trying to use a PIC to run the GPIB bus to control some digital I/O. Could you be a bit more specific as to just what sort of help you need? Are you planning to use a PIC to run the GPIB bus to control some external test equipment? Are you planning to use a PC to communicate with a PIC-based device over the GPIB bus? Regards, Bob -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
