Hi,

Being new at this PIC Stuff, the data sheets are not completely self
explanatory just yet...

I need to connect my 16F877 to a Fairchild FM93C86A 16K-Bit Serial EEPROM
which uses Microwire Synchronous Bus.
This EEPROM will have 10-bit address and 16-bit data.

I am currently using the RS232 USART on the 16F877 and I want to read and
write to the serial EEPROM.

Does anybody know if I can interface to this EEPROM and still use the RS232
at the same time?

Has anybody tried to interface a PIC to the 93C86 EEPROM?

Is microwire the same as SPI?

Is SPI part of the same USART with RS232?

Thanks in advance for your help, many of you have already provided a
tremendous amount of help to previous questions...increasing my
understanding and reducing the learning curve.
