How's this for a soppy idea that ties up three PIC threads Electronicated retro Light dimmer WDT as temp sensor I bought my niece a lava lamp for her birthday and have been running it (to check for faults) before she gets it. I noticed that at different times of day (as the ambient changes) or a window or door is left open and a breeze goes across the lamp, the blob size changes. Cooler = smaller. "Dial-A-Diameter" control ? Use a PIC to do the temperature measuring of ambient/lamp and control the AC to the bulb to raise/lower its heat output. Only needs a few degrees, which shouldn't affect the brightness (PWM a white LED to compensate ?) -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
