BUILDING A PIC16F87X COMMUNICATION BOARD: Interfaces needed (wanted): 1. RS-232 (to PC, GSM-module, modem etc) or RS-485 (small network) 2. Keyboard 3. IR RX 4. IR TX 5. LCD display Some help with the questions or comments from other projects? Q 1: IR TX When build a IR TX board with a PIC with PWM output, is it possible to = set the PWM to 38kHz (or 40 kHz for Sony), and turn the output pin ON and = OFF easy by program? Or do I have to a NAND gate with PWM output on NAND input and another = output from PIC on the other, to switch the IR LED ON and OFF. Example I trie to explane: http://www.rentron.com/Infrared_Remote_Control.htm Q 2: IR RX Put it on a pin with interrupt on change pin (RB4)? Q 3: Keyboard Is it a good idea to put the clock on INT pin (RB0) and data on any = other pin (RA0 or....)? Q 4: RS232 If I need some control/status lines from modem RI (ring indicator), = CTS, RTS, etc., any tip to fix that?
