"Could have happened anywhere" - yes.
But in some countries it would be far far less likely.

In my country (where Peter Blake came from) he would not have dreamed of
employing ex US navy SEALs as security men or expected to need guns to
protect his yacht. It is  a fact that some countries are more dangerous than
others. I would be pretty sure that the chance of this incident happening in
Brazil would be far higher than it happening here. This may indeed be
"pre-judgement" but represents what I understand to be fact. It may not in
fact be true.

I was impressed at the prompt arrest by your authorities of 7 men -
hopefully they are indeed the ones involved.
