    I, too, have dozens of folders with thousands of messages each.
    Pegasus Mail has been handling them just fine since 1994.

    Just one small bit of new info:  If you've tried Pegasus in the
    past but didn't like its multiple-window interface, you'll be
    happy to know that Pegasus Mail version 4 (currently in beta)
    can optionally be configured to look like Outlook/Messenger,
    i.e., one window with three panes.
