Just in case you decide to stick with Eudora... here's what I've got from
their tech support (must've been a lucky day :)

I didn't use the link (don't know if it would work at all in this
copied'n'pasted section), but rather edited the ini file directly. It did
get rid of the registration nags, but didn't stop the nagging about sending
usage statistics back to Qualcomm.
