Hi... Well, I'm in the middle of designing an intercom for the house and am in need of a little custom logic to avoid stuffing a board full of gates and diodes. I *could* blow the dust off my ancient copy of CUPL and my Hi-Lo ALL-02 programmer that have not seen daylight since 1995, and I do have a few GAL18V8A's laying around... but it there now a better alternative? Here are my requirements for something to qualify as "better": * Must be readily available (hopefully from Digi-Key or similar US supplier) in a DIP package. * Free programming hardware/software * Free development tool(s) * Able to replicate basic logic gate arrays (mostly AND/OR stuff) Basically I'm looking for something to replace GALS that I can program with nothing more than a cable or simple home brew hardware, and won't have to buy software for. Current requirement is not an issue, a hundred mA more or less isn't a big deal. Since I haven't had cause to design a new PLD for several years I have not paid much attention to what's out there... so what are the recommendations of the PICList?
