Hi, EL sheets needs high voltage AC signal from 200Hz - 500HZ 40Vrms to 200Vrms. You can increase the brightness by increaseing the voltage or frequency. Typical current for 1sqcm EL at say 80Vrms 200Hz is about 0.05mA and 80Vrms 400Hz is about 0.09mA. You can generate this from a 555 chip 1:25 audio transformer or you can use one of the following EL driver chips (Most of these chips work from 0.9V).
