It worked fine for me for the exact same device when I used Joan Ilari's LCD code from the LCD keypad module: http://www.terra.es/personal4/joan.ilari/lcd/lcd.htm It is quite handy, and the whole easily pluggable hardware/software module concept is actually quite spiffy for quick breadboard work.
