Has anyone gotten a Noritake CD20045SCPB-U1J to work in 4 mode. I fought with
it for a 1/2 day. I then decided to test it in 8 bit mode. Worked like a
champ.

The init sequence is the standard 3 8 bit resets, a 4 bit mode command, then
everything else in 4 bit mode. But it only writes junk to the display even
if large delays are used.

I'd like to use 4 bit mode to conserve I/O pins.

Any ideas?
