I have a diesel generator at home. I don't know exactly how this works, but there is a lever which somehow momentarily reduces the compression. Push in the lever; then when you pull the rope or crank the starter, after a short time interval the lever pops back out to it's starting position, engaging full compression. Makes the generator possible to start with a pull rope. Mark -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline? Don't AutoReply us! email listserv@mitvma.mit.edu with SET PICList DIGEST in the body
