OK, Friedel, there are two major diferencies between VGA and EGA. EGA have RGB digital ( TTL level)=20 VGA have analogic RGB up to 0.7V or 1V If you have a little experience you could easily modify the video input stage of a VGA monitor to work proper with EGA signals The second and major difference is the synchronisation frequency. But any multisync VGA monitor will syncronise with EGA signals. So the only diference is changing the RGB levels to digital. You could do it on an external board using some fast comparators.
