Trying to make head or tail of the various specs I've found online for the
two signalling specs.

Seems most of the differences are merely in voltage levels - (and therefore
max data rate due to slew, power consumption, number of receivers etc).
Can I simply use a level converter for bi-directional RS423<->RS232
communication?  (Assuming I set the baud low enough for RS232 to handle).
